One small step through the bi-fold doors and you’d swear you were in Port Douglas, on the deck of some luxurious hotel suite!

The existing Merbau decking, attached to this stylish, modern home in McKinnon, provided the perfect canvas for our Design and Sales Consultant, Mr. Brad Volling, to stretch his imagination.

The brief was reasonably simple – the owners desired an Alfresco area that would match with the square, yet elegant, shaping of the house, and complement it with ease, without the Alfresco design and construction looking like an addition to what already was.

“I’m exceptionally proud of my team at Custom Outdoor Living, in Melbourne. We each have a mandate – and that is to listen to our clients first, and hear what they want to achieve – and then translate those thoughts into a functional design that will improve their lifestyle, AND create a WOW factor! With this particular project, there was inspiration flowing from the outset. Simplicity and sophistication go hand-in-hand, and we were able to channel the existing home design, and it’s already architecturally chic features, as the catalyst to designing the perfect Alfresco outdoor living arena.” Matt Goodie (Managing Director of Custom Outdoor Living, in Melbourne) went on to say, “By retaining the high ceiling level, and by lining the Alfresco roof with the natural look of cedar, we were able to create a feeling of spaciousness and freedom to move. The broad seven metre opening at the front keeps the lines clean, and makes the actual now-extended area seem like something you’d find in the tropics. Add to that a couple of palm trees in the neighbouring property, and you’d be forgiven for allowing yourself to drift off into holiday mode, whilst enjoying a barbecue by day or night.”

Several subtle design features, suggested by Custom Outdoor Living in the planning stages, included the circular overhead fan and energy-efficient low voltage down lights. The substantial columns (supporting the roofline) also blend beautifully with the structure of the home, and the eye is drawn to the light streaming through the modern-style building, with high-level windows at both the front and the back of the property.

One can only imagine relaxing in this gorgeous indoor/outdoor atmosphere, and experiencing the great company of family and friends over the years to come – with a classic red or champers in hand. Ahhhhh!

“As specialist Alfresco Builders in Melbourne, who’ll take your concept from start to finish, you’ll find we have YOUR solution.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
