Pergolas R Us is a well established Building Company known for providing great services in outdoor entertainment area’s in thousands of Australian homes over the last 15 years. We are based in Lynbrook and we are a company that services all of Melbourne. Our sales team currently consists of 3 people who are all sales professionals. We’re growing and we’re looking for your help in the sales and design division of the business so |
we can all continue to prosper by increasing our already high referral success.
We’re looking for some special sales & design ‘guns’ to join us in the fun and the work of growing our business and reaching closer to all our mutual goals.
Next, your position…
You’ll be involved in all aspects of sales and design, as well as customer service. You also must be able to work on your own, as well as within a team environment.

Specifically, this position is for a person that has designing and selling knowledge of pergolas, decks, alfresco’s and small extension work. You’ll have the ‘knowledge’ of a builder and the ‘desire’ of a salesperson. The first area is being able to design projects. Designing the projects on the spot, inside the clients’ homes |
is a key element that we’re looking for and something that you’ll be tested on if you make it through to the next step. So you’ll need drafting skills, a broad understanding of building and of course, excellent problem solving ability.
The second area is being able to sell and to exceed your sales budgets.
Where will you be working?
There will be weekly sales training sessions at our head office in Lynbrook, and then the normal day to day selling appointments will be at our potential client’s houses. This could be anywhere in Melbourne, so you must have a current license and travel to your appointments.

The work hours will be…
Your position and the hours you work is totally up to you but to be successful in this field we generally find that you will have to be flexible and be available when our clients are home.
On an average you would be required to work most evenings and a Saturday.
(The most important time is the early evening (you’ll be home by 8.30 pm) as that is when your potential clients (i.e. both partners) will be home).
What’s most important to me is that you exceed your sales budget. If you can exceed your sales budget I don’t mind what hours you work. However, if you’re behind your budget and you need to work more to achieve them then that’s what you’ll have to do.
The position is paid on your performance.
How much will you earn? That’s up to you.

And of course, once you’ve started you’ll have a 3 month probationary period for you to get to know us, and for us to get to know you.
This is a role that requires you to interact with not only our clients, but with our team on a daily basis – so you’ll need to be great at creating relationships with people.

- Good computer skills – MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Web – as we are increasingly becoming a paperless business)
