A pergola is an outdoor structure - without an enclosed roof (see examples above). Therefore, a pergola is different to a verandah in one way - a verandah has a fully enclosed roof (see the difference here).
A true pergola is an open air, shade cloth or shade baton covered product.
A pergola can add value to your property as well and make it more beautiful. It's a great way to bring a 'nothing' part of your home alive, while waiting for your vines to grow and have a good effect.
Unlike a verandah, you may not require a permit for pergolas, providing it's less than 20 square metres. However, it must comply with all siting and town planning regulations and this is something the Pergolas R Us team will take care of for you.
